R & L Legras Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru Millésimé 1998

Comments: Eye - A sparkling wine, golden in colour and with glints of silver and green. When poured, the foam is dense and creamy. The bubbles, large in number and slow to rise to the surface, seem to have been refined thanks to a long maturity process. The Champagne is bright, limpid, crystalline and displays good concentration.
Nose - The nose reveals an extreme finesse and excellent maturity. This is without doubt due to the 8 years that it has spent in the wine cellars. You will discover notes of prunes, apples, yellow pears, white flowers and citrus fruits. The delicate minerality of the Côte des Blancs becomes apparent after a few moments of aeration, with honey-like aromas of sweets. Harmonious and very attractive.
Palate - Smoothness and vivacity combine to create the first impression on the palate. The wine appears ripe, almost jammy, and punctuated with extremely fine bubbles that fill the palate. The final impression is quite simply superb, with the same aromas of white fruit and citrus fruits that we had on the nose. Good balance.
