  In the 4th century B.C Diodoro Siculo named Malmsey wine (Malvasia delle Lipari) "The nectar of the Gods". It is a DOC wine. Produced with Malvasia grapes (95%) and Corinto Nero grapes (5%), it is naturally sweet. Drying the grapes in the sun gives Malmsey wine the special taste and the perfumes of the rich land where it is produced.
