I am going to make this easy on us all... In honour of the beautiful warm weather here I suggest we all find two lovely summer whites!
Give me a date that seems reasonable for you all.

Sorry that I haven't been around much lately. Between the bank and neverending family events I haven't had time to stop and take a breath.
I would definitely be interested in tasting some delicious whites. I'll need time to find something interesting though. How about May 12th or 5th?

Hi guys,
I just added my tasting notes for the 2004 Colgin Syrah. Incredible!
I'm up for whites on the 5th.

Great! The 5th works for me. I'll try to dig up something interesting for us to try. Possibly a Gruner Veltliner or maybe something Italian... I'm not telling.

Well Diane I think you might have jinxed us for the weather here. We're back to drizzle and grey skies. In spite of the weather we did manage to invite some friends over for drinks on Saturday night. It was sunny in spirit anyway...
The first wine was a little Vin de Pays from the Gascogne by Domaine Tariquet. A perfect summer sipper - fruity, simple and inexpensive (7£ here) but dry and with good backbone, not at all insipid.
The other wine we poured was the dry version of Chateau Doisy-Daene in Barsac. It's 100% Sauvignon and incredibly aromatic - not grassy or green like the NZ and SA Sauvignons, but all citrus, peach, apricot, pear. Of course it still has the Sauvignon acid kick to back it all up. This wine is a little more expensive (11£) and fairly hard to find (everywine.co.uk) but really worth picking up if you come across it. Everyone fell in love with the nose.
Who's next?
